Centre 16 is just one of 20 areas of the Virago Star Owners' Club and is generally known as "Solent". Our motif is the Mad Axeman and we meet monthly in Searles' Social Club in Fareham, Hants.  Our area primarily covers Portsmouth and Southampton but extends from Worthing in the east to Ringwood in the west. We also take in the Isle of Wight to the south and north from Winchester, through Petersfield to Arundel.  Officially it's Hampshire and West Sussex.  Solent's membership currently stands at 87 full national members with 17 local associate members. Having undergone many changes over the last few years, we continue to go from strength to strength with our members attending all the major rallies both at home and abroad. Whilst some of our members are in their twenties, we do have a few senior personnel in their seventies with bikes from 125s to 1800s. We actively support a local charity, Two Saints and always visit East Shore School, for special needs children, at Easter and Christmas.  Two Saints operate to give assistance to the homeless and people whom are unable to look after themselves. They are based in both Portsmouth and Southampton with the Portsmouth branch being singularly known as St Petroc's and the Southampton branch, St Patrick's. Our new Centre Rep is Bill Mills who has been a member for eight years, prior to that he was the Dep Rep, he welcomes members old and new, and is committed to flying the Solent flag. Where do we meet We meet at Searles Social club on the first Thursday of every month. This can found at the end of Frankport Way, off Newgate Lane behind the Ten pin bowling centre. Bikes can park outside the club, but can cars please park in the large car park in front of the club. People usually arrive about 7.30 pm and the meetings starts at 8.00 pm.
